19 THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I WAS 19!!

This weeks post is a little different! I've made a list for my younger viewers of things I wish I knew before I was nineteen that I was able to learn primarily this year!

1. If it won't matter in a month, do not spend more than five minutes thinking about it.
2. Reading before bed DOES help you sleep better. Turn off your phone.
3. If you are feeling consumed by social media TAKE A BREAK. You won't miss anything.
4. Eating healthy genuinely can affect your mental and physical health in a positive way
5. Cardio chemically produces and releases endorphins that make you happy. Use this to your advantage and do cardio.
6. NEVER choose your friends based on anything other than the fact that they make you happy or a better person.
7. You are who the closest ten people you surround yourself with are. Make that a positive group of ten people.
8. If you choose people that don't choose you, let them go.
9. Car rides with loud music can fix a lot of things.
10. Accept that a lot …

RYU Fall Launch & Mental Health Awareness Day Campaign!!

RYU dropped some new stuff for fall and I've been loving it so I thought I'd share! Their brand is all about respecting yourself, others, and the universe! As I've mentioned before on my blog, Respect Your Universe is an urban athletic apparel company created and based in Vancouver! I've been an RYU Campus Connector for almost a year and it has definitely made me feel like I'm a part of something bigger! Go check out RYU at their four locations in the Vancouver area (Robson, West fourth, West Van, and Metrotown) or on their website @ www.ryu.com to get some gear and represent Respect Your Universe with me! The staff and everyone involved in RYU are all super motivating and supportive people and I'm super lucky to be involved with such a cool company!

RYU has a mental health awareness campaign for the month of November. "We're all fighting battles others know nothing about. Today is World Mental Health Day - If you're struggling with he pressures of…

Brunch @ Northside Espresso

Today I had the best brunch (as usual) at Northside Espresso! Northside is a hidden spot in Kingston that I tend to go to a lot! It has great coffee and even better breakfast food (it's also insanely cute!). Today I chose to get the Eggs Benny with a drink called "The Melbourne" which is essentially a scoop of ice cream with espresso shots pour over top and I definitely had no regrets! This place is small and the kitchen is tiny but they somehow produce the best food :) If you're ever in Kingston, Northside Espresso is a MUST!

FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CITY

Since moving across the country to university, I've had time to reflect on my home city! It took being a six hour plane (and five provinces away) to really realize how lucky I am that Vancouver, B.C is home to me! This post will be all about the places/reasons I love in/about Vancouver!

1. The Sea Wall/Stanley Park!
If you are from or have ever been to Vancouver you should be familiar with this! For me, there is no better way to relax than a run on the sea wall or a day at Stanley park! The sea wall spans fourteen kilometres around downtown Vancouver and Stanley park is on the back end of the sea wall! There's both bike and walk paths, outdoor pools, water parks, restaurants with beautiful views, and a lot of smiley faces :)

2. The MOST amazing coffee shops!
To name a few: Paralel 49th, Platform 7, The art gallery cafe, Bel Cafe, Pallet Coffee Roaster! I am always able to be productive working at these Coffee Shops/Cafe's.

3. Downtown Vancouver/Gastown!
Two of the most bea…

Rumble Apparel - A Review

Rumble Apparel is a Canadian based business (which I always like to support because nowadays almost everything is overseas) that designs closet essentials for everyday kind of wear! They combine fashion with social responsibility. The cool thing is as a brand they value diversity, whether that be race, body shape, etc. The brand focusses on small batches and fair labour which is so important. Rumble Apparel is about girls supporting girls! The sweater featured is the "Get Love" sweater (which is currently on sale!!) and its SO comfy.
Check it out here: www.rumbleapparel.com I decided to get the sweater a bit bigger so I could wear it with bike shorts and I'm really happy with the fit of it.

How I Cleared My Skin In Two Weeks!!

I've never really struggles with really bad skin however recently it has been oddly bumpy and very frequently I get random pop ups of acne. I decided just a couple weeks ago to cut my skin care routine down to the most simple it has ever been and use one mask twice a week and other than that, products from just one company.

1. Graydon Skincare: I got four products from Graydon Skincare and my favourite so far has been the mineral face spray and the cleanser. These products are my new holy grail and I will absolutely be replacing them when they run out. Graydon Skincare is my new everyday skin care routine because they have a wide range of products that work well together too. I love the fact that it's all natural and plant powered, it truly makes a difference when you don't use harsh chemicals on your skin all the time. You can check them out at: (https://graydonskincare.ca).

2. Alya Pink Clay Mask

This mask is by far the best mask I have used. It is so refreshing and it m…

Five Things I Wish I Knew Going Into First Year University!!

As summer comes to an end, it's time for all the students to prepare for the next year of studies! I'm going into my second year and really looking forward to it! I've created a list of five things I wish I knew before going into first year university. This list is purely created based on experience. Feel free to share with anyone you know heading off to post secondary education as it may not only apply to first years! I live in Vancouver and go to school in Ontario so this list may be a little biased for the people who are leaving home as that is my experience! Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy and I hope this helps you in some way!

1. FACETIME is a life changer and when you're away from your family and friends it can at times be the only thing that gets you through the inevitable home sick days so USE it.
2. Organize yourself BEFORE school starts. This could include an agenda, making sure your room is organized, creating a workout schedule, etc.
3. Even though university…

Why I Started Blogging!!

This weeks post is all about why I started blogging! It seems crazy to think about, but its almost been eight months since I started Sunday Funday! Sunday Funday for me has been an incredible creative outlet and starting a blog was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I've always been the type of person that is incredibly passionate about something, growing up it was competitive soccer and swimming. When I moved out east to continue my studies I started only playing soccer for fun - a HUGE adjustment. I found myself missing something. This is when one night I decided to just go for it and start a blog! I've loved blogging ever since and it has definitely become my passion.

Blogging has allowed me to learn more about myself and the things I'm interested in. I honestly can't see myself ever stopping because it has become such a great thing in my life.

Carbon Fairy - A Review

A new Canadian brand I found on Instagram called Carbon Fairy came out with these sick products that will keep your teeth looking clean & white!! Their products are all natural and vegan (which means no pain while whitening).  I usually incorporate their whitening tooth paste into my tooth brushing routine three times a week & brush as I would with any other tooth paste for about two minutes!! Like I said previously, the worst part of whitening teeth is always the weak feeling afterwards or the sort of stingy feeling during from all the chemicals, Carbon fairy uses all natural ingredients to ensure this doesn't happen. You can use my code "DANIKA10" for 10% off.

After ten days of using Carbon Fairy I have definitely noticed a significant difference!!
PSA: This is not a sponsored post however these products were sent to me.

Weekend In My Life (Vancouver)!!

This weekend I decided to create a post about my home city and what a weekend in my life is like here!! I work Monday to Friday so I always try to enjoy my weekends as much as possible!! The weather in Vancouver has been so nice recently so this weekend I went to the beach a bunch and really tried to soak in the sun while it's here.

I went for dinner at Cactus Club on friday night & to a place in Yaletown called Tavern!

On Saturday morning I went for brunch at a place my family frequents called the Reagle Beagle and then for coffee at a great place downtown called Quantam:
Today (Sunday) I was able to get over to Granville island for coffee with a friend and it was so great!! Granville Island is amazing because there are always street performers which is super relaxing for a Sunday morning.

Five Trip Essentials That I Never Leave Behind!!

Since it's the summer time and a lot of people are travelling, this week I decided to share five products/things that I always bring on vacation!

1. Tanceuticals tanner! Voted #1 of 2018! Really easy to apply and stays on all week! (https://www.tanceuticals.com)

2. Face masks! I use the Huna Apothecary one which really brightens my skin and keeps me glowing on vacation! (https://www.hunaskin.com)

3. A good swimsuit! My favourite right now is by Seuno Swimwear! It's so comfy and flattering. Here is a picture of me wearing one of their tops! The prices are affordable for the quality and they have a wide selection of styles and colours which is really nice! (https://suenoswimwear.com)
4. Sunglasses! My favourites right now are from a company I found near Venice Beach called California Shades! They have so many different pairs which makes for a great selection for everyone! They're so cute and trendy!

Weekend Away in LA 2.0!!

While I was in LA this passed weekend the weather hit an all time high with a record breaking 44 degrees celsius... It felt crazy like a heat wave. I went to LA for four nights and as usual had the best time! I went to great restaurants, and had a great experience. The main restaurant I was there for was CATCH LA, they just added many new items to their menu and the venue is literally beautiful.

Food:
CATCH LA: I got the opportunity to try a bunch of different things while visiting CATCH LA. The crispy cauliflower and "Hit Me" cake were my two favourite things that I tried on the menu. I love the atmosphere of CATCH LA and yet again had the best experience. CATCH is overall an incredible restaurant and I would for sure recommend you to try it out! It's located in West Hollywood on a roof top.

TLT Mexican:
We stumbled upon this place called TLT in Westwood! The food was amazing and the prices were very fair. We also got to try one of their mango drinks which is not in the…

Weekend Away In Whistler!!

This weekend I went to Whistler! It was an awesome time (even though it rained most of the time). The highlight for me was when we went up the mountain on the gondola to the peak and walked the new suspension bridge and had poutine too! We saw a few bears while we were on the gondola on the way up. It was cool to see the mountain when there isn't a ton of snow on it! The new suspension bridge is cool but it's really shaky which kinda scared me! I would definitely go on it again though because it has a great view! While in Whistler we also went to a hot tub on the lake which was obviously super relaxing and nice!

Here are some pictures from the top!

Since I knew we'd be hiking around a bit I threw on all my favourite RYU gear which included their new varsity shirts to match a ton of schools! Mine is yellow and blue for Queen's University as you can see!! The shirts are super comfy and I really like how they match my school colours too!

Overall it was really nice to get …

Hiking The Squamish Chief!!

This weeks post is about the Squamish Chief which I hiked on Sunday! It took about two hours in total but it was pretty tough! I expected it to be a bit easier. There's ladders you have to climb and ropes and it's a pretty high incline! We went to the first peak. The view at the top is so nice and of course makes the whole hike worth it! The Sea To Sky highway that we drove from Vancouver on is such a nice drive too! We got really lucky because it was so nice out and right when we got to the bottom and got in the car it started to pour rain!!

Here are some photos from the top!!

How To Stay Positive!!

This topic is so hard to write and give advice about because I feel like different things work for different people but this post will give you an insight into how I try to stay as positive as possible and maybe give you some tips that may help you! I know sometimes it can be really hard to be positive and happy! I try to think as much as possible of how short life is and always ask myself if what I'm struggling with will matter in two to four years?? If not, try to forget about it!!

1. Go for a run/walk/workout! Fitness is so good for your mental health.

2. Read a good book. Recently I have been reading Twelve Rules For Life by Jordan Peterson and it has been a great distraction.

3. Remember that your positivity depends on what you allow your mind to think about! If you are thinking negative thoughts, distract yourself by thinking of positive things! This can be hard to do but it can be done!

4. Write what you're feeling down! I know you don't always feel like talking out…

My Week Away In LA!!

Just got back from LA so I thought this week I would share some pictures, restaurants, a hotel recommendation, some night life recommendations, and how great my trip went! Two friends and I went to LA and stayed for a week! We met great people there and had a lot of fun!

Below is a picture from a place called Carrero Cafe! They're specialty is to print whatever you want on the top of your latte! It was really cute and the coffee was great.

We also went to an awesome cupcake place that has a cupcake ATM outside! It is called Sprinkles Cupcakes and it is a must go if you are ever in LA! Sprinkles Cupcakes is located in the middle of Beverly Hills! My personal favourite cupcake is the red velvet!
On our second last day we went to the Beverly Hills Hotel! The food was great and there are a lot of good picture opportunities there too! I got the Strawberry Waffles and they were so tasty!
I don't have too many pictures from going out as far as night life in LA but we went to Nighting…

How I Self Tan For Vacation!!

I constantly find myself without time to go outside and get a real tan so recently I have been using the two best products I have found to get a flawless and moisturized self tan! It all starts with a great exfoliator.

The two products I use are:

1. Koffee Scrub: To exfoliate! This product smells great and makes my skin really soft too! The product is affordable and natural on the skin.

2. Tanceuticals in Dark: To tan! This tan brings me the best tan and lasts the longest! It makes me look very tan and does not streak easily! Usually I put the tan on and wash it off when I wake up to make sure it sinks into my skin. I would recommend this product.

I always use these two products because they work well together. I always make sure to exfoliate before tanning because it makes the tan last longer! To extend the length of the tan I moisturize too.

Why I Choose RYU Over All Other Athletic Brands!!

RYU has quickly taken over as my favourite urban athletic wear company and I want to share with you why!

1. Unlike other urban athletic wear brands there is a message behind the brand which really resonates with me! Respect your universe. Respect yourself. Respect others. This message is what sets RYU apart. The brand exists for a meaningful purpose - to facilitate human performance.

2. RYU is a hometown brand! Created and most manufactured in Vancouver B.C. This is awesome because being from Vancouver B.C I like to support local businesses/companies as much as possible.

3. The technical quality! The quality of all RYU clothing I have tried out so far has been second to none! Usually after awhile most athletic clothing will lose its shape and quality but this is not the case for RYU. Additionally, RYU clothing is ethically sourced which is great!!

4. The last point I want to share is the comfort and wearability of RYU's clothing!!

Five Favourite Places To Go In Vancouver!!

This week I'm sharing my five favourite places to go in Vancouver B.C. If you're ever here, go check these places out! This list wasn't easy to make because there are so many awesome places but this is a list of my favourites! Please enjoy!

1. Parallel 49th (Lucky's Doughnuts)! This place is in Kitsilano which is super convenient. The coffee is great & the doughnuts are even better!

2. Body Energy Club! This is literally the best smoothie/pressed juice place that I have ever been to and I have one everyday for lunch at work. The company started in Vancouver which is pretty awesome & the smoothies are THE best. My favourite is the Razzbutter Smoothie and the Collagen juice.

3. Platform 7! This coffee shop is also in Kitsilano and has recently been rebranded to look like a train station! It has awesome coffee and tea and its always super busy in there!

4. Kitsilano Beach/Pool. I go here seriously almost everyday during my runs and it never gets old! There is a gr…

Monthly Watch Club Review!!

Review- Monthly Watch Club

This week I received some really awesome watches from a monthly subscription called Monthly Watch Club and I decided that I like them so much I might as well share it!! It’s $39.99 a month and you receive a new watch EVERY month. Personally I think it is an awesome subscription because not only is the price fair for what you are receiving, but it is also pretty awesome to get a new watch every month because you will never get tired of the one you are wearing!! These are my two favourite watches now and I have been wearing them every day. The best part about this monthly subscription is that it is Canadian!!
This watch has a brown leather strap and it goes with everything! My other favourite has a gold strap and it is also super good for an everyday watch that goes with everything!! Buy here: https://www.monthlywatchclub.ca !!!!

HOW TO: Get Through First Year University!!

I am one week out of being done first year university so I feel like I have some tips and tricks to share!! I have created five main tips that are a combination of how to get through the actual school part and the mental/happiness part too!! I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed coming up with it.

1. GET A PLANNER AND USE IT. I got mine from Personal Planner. It helps so much if you actually write when your assignments and tests are. If you write everything you have to do down then you can refer back to it if you forget and it keeps you super on task I find at least. It's really awesome because you can custom make the planner from personal planner with important dates and stuff but you can also design the layout however you like it!!
2. In university I have found it to be very different then in high school when it comes to due dates. There is no room for late assignments and you can not re do any assignments or tests either. This pretty much means that you have to STAY O…

Fitness + Health Products That Have Helped Me Get Fit!!

These four products have helped me get fit and more healthy too. Remember that the gym and eating healthy are the two things that have helped me the most but these products have definitely assisted me to get fit easier.

Kismet Nutrients: I have been taking the "Ultimate Fat Burn" supplement and have really enjoyed them so far. They have definitely assisted in helping me work towards the body I want. Buy at: https://kismetnutrients.com/pages/hair-nails-skin.

Core FX: The best resistance bands at a good price!! They have a lot of really cute colour options too!! The best part is that they have different resistant level bands that you can pick between.

Tiny Tea: I have been drinking the Tiny Tea Your Tea one to two times a day for about a month now and it has definitely reduced bloating and made me feel overall more healthy too. I have found that it works best if you have it after a meal or before sleeping too.

Smart Shake: The shaker's helped me stay hydrated so well compared …

Weekend Away In Toronto!!

The past weekend my family and I went to Toronto!! While being there we stayed at the Fairmont Royal York and it was really nice! We visited downtown of course and the distillery district. We went to three Blue Jays versus the Yankees games which was an awesome experience. It was awesome to see My Parents because I'm currently away at school so that was really great to be with them too.

The Blue Jays games were really awesome and the Blue Jays beat the Yankees 2/3 games we watched so it was amazing to see them beat such a great team. It was so great to go to three games I really like baseball and it made our time in Toronto even better.

In the picture above I am wearing a coat from The Mundanes. I received so many compliments on it while I was in Toronto and it was really warm too. You can buy it right here: (https://themundanes.com/collections/teddy/products/the-teddy-coat)

We also went to some great restaurants in Toronto such as Craft, Earls, and we ate at the Fairmont lounge …
