How To Get Through Exams 2018:

I've created a list of things to help students get through exams this spring.

  1. Forty minutes on, twenty minutes off. Study for forty, take a break for twenty. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Until you're done studying. This allows your brain and body to take a break.
  2. Change your study location. Maybe you usually study in your room, try going to a coffee shop or the library for a change of scenery.
  3. Make sure you EAT. Your brain is working hard and needs fuel.
  4. Study Strategically. Highlight the important things and then only focus on the highlighted notes.
  5. Make sure you're not only studying the easy things you know. The likelihood is that the exam will be composed of the more challenging and harder content.
  6. When it comes to exam time, make sure you're prepared with all the equipment you need such as pencils, pens, rulers, and erasers before test time so that when its time to write the exam you're only focussing on the exam itself.

Five Things I Wish I Knew Going Into First Year University!!

As summer comes to an end, it's time for all the students to prepare for the next year of studies! I'm going into my second year and really looking forward to it! I've created a list of five things I wish I knew before going into first year university. This list is purely created based on experience. Feel free to share with anyone you know heading off to post secondary education as it may not only apply to first years! I live in Vancouver and go to school in Ontario so this list may be a little biased for the people who are leaving home as that is my experience! Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy and I hope this helps you in some way!

1. FACETIME is a life changer and when you're away from your family and friends it can at times be the only thing that gets you through the inevitable home sick days so USE it.
2. Organize yourself BEFORE school starts. This could include an agenda, making sure your room is organized, creating a workout schedule, etc.
3. Even though university…
