When it comes to being away from home... I've got a few tips and tricks.
1. Utilize FaceTime. It's an awesome thing and even though it's not as good as actually being with people, its as close as you're going to get.
2. Stay busy. I find for myself personally working out 4-5 times a week really helps me stay busy and motivated.
3. Plan when you're going to be home next. If there's a date set you can count down and have that to look forward to.
4. Write letters. Writing letters and receiving letters from people you miss at home can be really nice.
5. Talk about it with people who are feeling the same way. There are likely so many people in the same position as you. Talk about it. Having said this, don't obsess over it with them because that will only make it worse.
6. Being homesick is okay. It is very normal for young people but also anyone. Just know that when you do finally get home with the people you miss it will be really special and very worth it.
