FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CITY

Since moving across the country to university, I've had time to reflect on my home city! It took being a six hour plane (and five provinces away) to really realize how lucky I am that Vancouver, B.C is home to me! This post will be all about the places/reasons I love in/about Vancouver!

1. The Sea Wall/Stanley Park!
If you are from or have ever been to Vancouver you should be familiar with this! For me, there is no better way to relax than a run on the sea wall or a day at Stanley park! The sea wall spans fourteen kilometres around downtown Vancouver and Stanley park is on the back end of the sea wall! There's both bike and walk paths, outdoor pools, water parks, restaurants with beautiful views, and a lot of smiley faces :)

2. The MOST amazing coffee shops!
To name a few: Paralel 49th, Platform 7, The art gallery cafe, Bel Cafe, Pallet Coffee Roaster! I am always able to be productive working at these Coffee Shops/Cafe's.

3. Downtown Vancouver/Gastown!
Two of the most beautiful areas to be! Downtown is surrounded by water which makes for great views! There is super good shopping and a lot of nice restaurants too! Gastown always has the best vibe! There are some more alternative shops/restaurants in Gastown so if you're looking for something a little more alternative definitely check it out!

4. Grouse Mountain/Squamish Chief/Quarry Rock
My three favourite hikes in the Vancouver area! Vancouver definitely doesn't lack nature and its super refreshing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city sometimes! These three hikes all have different yet equally beautiful views which definitely make the hike up worth it!

These are just a few things I love about my city! If you're ever in Vancouver (and even if you live there) make sure you check out these spots above!

XX,
Danika

Five Things I Wish I Knew Going Into First Year University!!

As summer comes to an end, it's time for all the students to prepare for the next year of studies! I'm going into my second year and really looking forward to it! I've created a list of five things I wish I knew before going into first year university. This list is purely created based on experience. Feel free to share with anyone you know heading off to post secondary education as it may not only apply to first years! I live in Vancouver and go to school in Ontario so this list may be a little biased for the people who are leaving home as that is my experience! Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy and I hope this helps you in some way!

1. FACETIME is a life changer and when you're away from your family and friends it can at times be the only thing that gets you through the inevitable home sick days so USE it.
2. Organize yourself BEFORE school starts. This could include an agenda, making sure your room is organized, creating a workout schedule, etc.
3. Even though university…

Monthly Watch Club Review!!

Review- Monthly Watch Club

This week I received some really awesome watches from a monthly subscription called Monthly Watch Club and I decided that I like them so much I might as well share it!! It’s $39.99 a month and you receive a new watch EVERY month. Personally I think it is an awesome subscription because not only is the price fair for what you are receiving, but it is also pretty awesome to get a new watch every month because you will never get tired of the one you are wearing!! These are my two favourite watches now and I have been wearing them every day. The best part about this monthly subscription is that it is Canadian!!
This watch has a brown leather strap and it goes with everything! My other favourite has a gold strap and it is also super good for an everyday watch that goes with everything!! Buy here: https://www.monthlywatchclub.ca !!!!
